Posts on media I have produced
I am extremely proud of this piece I created to promote Go Communities at our church.
I used our Canon T3i to shoot the footage at a cookout. It was all handheld so I had to be very careful and steady. The lighting turned out great – especially in the pre-dusk hour. The background music was purchased at pond5.com and I edited the video in Screenflow.
This is a message series intro I created. The software I used was Screenflow and Photoshop. I got some of the videos from gracewaymedia.com, which our church subscribes to (great resource for screen graphics!), and I got one video and the royalty free music from pond5.com. Actually, the final image (at the time of this post) is a FREE DOWNLOAD at pond 5. I was at the right place at the right time!
All the text are transparent PNG file created in Photoshop. I found these where higher quality and handled the video actions a lot better then the text boxes. This is my first attempt at using video actions in a real application. Looking back, there are a few things I would tweak, but with time constraints, I have to call it done and move on to my next projects!
The message series has 5 stand-alone sermons about Jesus that have to do with water (turning water into wine, Jesus’ baptism, etc.) so the video had to be general enough to fit with each message. One creative decision I made was to reverse the raindrop movies – causing the raindrops to fall UP. I thought this was a way to take the familiar image of water drops falling and put a supernatural spin on them. It’s somewhat familiar and ordinary, but also strangely other-worldly. I love the images with the music – I think it works really well to create intrigue.
